الملخص الإنجليزي

The route design is one of the ancient subjects which had acquired a lot of attention from early days because of its importance in daily life of the human being.

This report has discussed the traditional methods, which depends mainly on the field.

Work and other related observation, more over the mathematical concepts about earthwork, areas of cross-sections, volumes of earthworks and designing of curves have been adopted and implemented on computer.

Finally the modern automatic methods which use Remote Sensing and digital image processing techniques arc highlighted briefly to be used extensively later.
