Herbal medicine, offering natural remedies, is well accepted by the body and often associated with conventional treatments.

It now a fantastic revival in the West.

In addition, side effects induced by drugs of concern to users, who are turning to less aggressive care for the body.

For our part we are interested in a plant species used in herbal medicine, namely Marrubium vulgare L or white horehound.

Our objective was to verify the efficiency of this plant on the plane including antiseptic and antibacterial activity of these flavonoids.

The extraction of flavonoids gave a yield equal to 5.9 %.

The isolated compounds were separated by TLC and their antibacterial activity was determined in vitro for face six bacterial strains responsible for certain infectious diseases Comparison tests with an antibiotic, Rifampicin were also included in the trials.

The results have demonstrated that the isolated extract is formed from two compounds with frontal reports more or less close.

From the antibacterial tests of the isolated flavonic extracts, it appears that the inhibition of growth of the strains tested varies with the nature of the bacterial species, the concentration of the extract and the culture medium used.

A significant antibacterial effect was observed for some strains considered among the most resistant to antibiotics such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853 and Staphylococcus aureus.
