Tourism in its new Concept as an economic phenomenon is one of the features of the present study, particularly after the second world war.

Tourism an earner of foreign curreney, is an important of economic development in developing countries Proponents-tourist expansion in these countries point to the foreign exchange receipts generated by tourism, or at a more sophisticated level, to the impact of these foreign exchange receipts on gross domestic product either directly, or through the operation of the expenditure multiplier.

The purpose of this study is to examine the direct impact of tourism revenue on national income, and also indirect impact of these revenue on the development of the varioms sectors within the frame of mathematical models some characteristics of the demand in the world and Iraq has been mentioned implicitly aiming to evaluabe the growth of the aspects of this demand.

In addition, analysis the cost-benefit of the balance of tourism has been made.

It has been clear from the preceding analysis that external tourism income has cncreased from I.D 356.96 million in 1980 to I.D-22.79 million in 1990.

At the same time, the Iraqi tomrism balance recorded a surplus amount to I.D.

49.89 million during the same period.

The theoretical hasis of the tourist multiplier which purports to relate foreign exchange receipts of tourist to value added in real terms, and the limitation of the multiplier approach were discussed deeply-It has been attempted to derive estimates of the value of the multiplier and to analyse the effects on this of relaxing various key assumptions.

we attempted carry out such analysis for the whole Iraqi economy, we moved to derive estimates of social costs and benefits, through the estimation of opportunity cost of the capital, of tourism receipts investment in tourism sector and manufacturing sector and through the whole economic plans.

The sensitivity analysis of The results to alternative values of various key variables is also analysed.

It is proposed here to put the main findings and sugg estions in a more general persepective, for certain spcific characteristics emerge from this study adout the process of the tourist industry in Iraq as a whole Tourism in Iraq has contributed and will remain contrib-uting significantly towards economic progress.

In addition, the investment in tourism industry has contributed, directly and indirectly, towards economic growth.
