If modem literary criticism has now arrived at its full stature and fulfilled its principles on its special regions, yet it has also opened itself, from the beginning of the 20th.

century, on the psychological, social, anthropological, mythological and other experimental studies and philosophies.

It has also benefited from the fruits of Freud’s studies and his followers.

The frontiers and principles of criticism have really been mingled up to the extent that a group of contemporary Arab psycho-critics have departed from the arena of literary criticism in favour of that of Psycho-analysis.

This has resulted in the emergence of a problem which stands in bad need for a solution through which a relationship between literary criticism and Psycho-analysis can be arrived at and, thereafter, specified.

Such a research is an attempt at observing and then solving this problem.
