In view of the continuing rapid population growth and the rising social expectations, it is crucial to develop all our natural resources and in everyway possible especially with modern technology.

Muslim countries including Egypt suffer from a variety of population problems and pressures due to the imbalance between population growth and limited population resources.

In addition, there is a problem of maldistribution of population, unplanned urban expansion and poor distribution and utilization of manpower.

It is therefore crucial to in-troduce population studies and concepts as an integral part of the curriculae of Al-Azhar in both girl and boys colleges.

Girls are in no less need for these studies than boys and both boys and girls will use the information in upgrading the Muslim family and safeguarding the future of Muslim nations.
