L’intervention de l’Etat dans la vie économique fut et reste jusqu’aujourd’hui le point central d’une longue polémique entre les économistes, depuis la pensée économique classique, jusqu’aux courants contemporains.

Les tentatives se sont succédées pour justifier l’interventionnisme de l’Etat.

Cette recherche a pour objet d’établir un état des lieux de la littérature moderne portant sur l’interventionnisme de l’Etat.

Elle se focalise sur la nouvelle théorie des institutions, qui a fourni de puissants outils pour justifier l’intervention de l’Etat dans la vie économique.

L’exemple pris est celui du secteur de l’électricité
