Extremism and Radicalism in religion are plagues which appear in societies in different ways and various factures.

They are the most dangerous religious phenomenon which arose from the Islamic arena particularly in the circle of some youths and in a noticeable way, therefore, it was necessary to study and write about this matter.

This study was dealt in different methods; the descriptive method, the critique method and the analysis method based on proof and evidence, and also discuss the ideas of the extremist which they based their conceptions on.

I have made every effort to authenticate the sources of this study from the original past and from the contemporary vision and I've also made it's structure comprising of seven topics preceded by an introduction and followed by an epilogue incorporating the most important findings and recommendations.

The first topic includes the clarification of the concept of Excessiveness and some synonymous religious terms such as Extremism, over strict and sternness, and the clarifying of the concept moderate contrary to Excessiveness .

The second topic : the reference to different kinds of excessiveness .

There are two types : excessiveness in belief and in actions, and to clarify the danger of each type, especially the first type " excessiveness in belief " for it is the source of unrest and also the source of what the Ummah ( nation ) is experiencing to day.

The third topic : to clarify the opinion of Islam on Excessiveness and Extremism by mentioning that Islam has warned it's followers against excessiveness, and ordered them to be moderate and lay down the fundamentals that are a starting point for them to worship their lord Allah.

The fourth topic: clarification on the roots of Excessiveness in Islam through talking about the Khawarij (renegades) and the mentioning of their fundamentals and philosophies from which started, comparing them with todays extremist.

The fifth topic : the clarification of the reasons for Excessiveness and Extremism because of ignorance, lack of knowledge , the abolish of scholars rulings, severity and strictness on one self, the pessimistic general view for the situation of the Ummah ( nation ), the incorrect developing of the personalities and the individuals of those who fell into this concept and their lack of awareness for the consequences of this issue ) and the disaster it brings on.

The sixth topic : the impact the Excessiveness and Extremism have on the individual and society such as : revolting against the Muslim Jama'ah (community ) and their Imam ( leader ), regarding them as infidels and to legalize the killings of protected Muslims, the instability of security, the destruction of properties, giving Islam a bad reputation, undermining it, repulsing Muslims and others away from Islam, and preventing the development of the Ummah ( nation ).

The seventh topic: How to deal with Excessiveness and Extremism.

This can be done in two ways: the correct bringing up of children, a sound foundation and dialogue, and the way of confrontation.
