Muhimma Daftars ٠٠ is one of the most important sources f the history of Ottoman empire and its relation with its rovences.

especially when it comes to the bureaucratic process rhich the Ottoman government followed through the centuries , uch as the case ofHijaz.

The Muhimma dafters consist of (266) olumes , which include (500,000) imperial decrees ( Hukums ) that covers a period of four centuries.

This research tries to concentrate on the Muhimma dafters related to Hijaz, by clarifying some of the ambiguous terms in these defers and explaning some of the problems that researchers face when they read them, such as : unusu^ terminus and dating sused in them.

Examples are provided for these problems from Satanic decrees related to Hijaz province .

Texts from cores pondances to the judges of Hejaz related to different cases, and how those judges executed the titanic decrees through the period are also provided.

Some examples from Jeddah custom house revenues and the way they were distributed between the Sharif of Mecca and the Wali of Hijaz and how they were expended are also presented.
