الملخص EN

The research explains the meaning of asking Allah by His Countenance, and that there is a difference between asking Allah by his face and swearing by It.

It also shows that a number of scholars clarified the relevance between the unification of Allah and asking by His Countenance the 'Paradise' only, not other demands.

And that the 'asking Allah by His Countenance' has both, allowable and forbidden forms.

So neither is there a permission for asking anything by His Countenance, nor a prohibition of everything by this kind of asking.

The words of scholars are similar in the statement upon legality of 'asking Allah by His face' things that are mediums of getting Heaven.

And that does not come within the general interdiction of the Hadith (prophetic saying): (Nothing but Paradise must be begged by Face of Allah).

Some scholars state that the specification of Paradise in the Hadith: (Nothing but Paradise must be begged by Face of Allah) is as a form of stimulation of passion for huge things, not as a limitation.

As the views of scholars varied in specifying the means and ways leading to Paradise, which may be legally asked by Face of Allah.

Some of these: seeking refuge with His Face from His Wrath and Hellfire, asking of: good deeds, firmness on the straight path, protection from being led astray, guidance to the Rightness, and keeping strengthened at the time of being asked in the Grave, etc.

Most of the scholars (Ulama') interpreted the interdiction came in the Hadith: (Nothing but Paradise must be begged by Face of Allah) as forbidding from asking Allah by His Countenance the mundane things.

For The Face of Allah is a Great one, so it is unsuitable to use the Great as a means of inferior things.

And everything except Paradise or its means is inferior.

A number of scholars have gone to interpret the prohibition in the Hadith as a mere disliking (karahiyyah), not as illegality (tahrim).

Some other scholars (Ulama') have gone to illegality of asking the creature by Allah's Countenance the mundane thing, inferring from the Hadith: (Accursed the one who asks by the Face of Allah, Accursed the one who is being asked by the Face of Allah and then he refused the beggar, except if be asked of unsuitable).

There is no conflict between the saying of illegality (tahrim) or disliking (karahat) of asking Allah by His Countenance the mundane thing, and the saying of legality of giving whom asks by the Countenance of Allah the mundane thing.

Because the prohibition relates to the asking.

And as for as giving to the asker is concerned, the Texts of Sharia do not forbid from it.
