الملخص EN

The concept of human rights, which is one of the biggest virtues of our era, is another version of the recognition of the human honor in the international arena.

The protection of human honor and personality is the fundamental aim of all the international agreements and protocols.

Without doubt, the Arabic society did not make any assessment from the legal point of view, while initiating the course of the Arab Spring, which is considered to be the course of liberation and democratization.

Yet, in the countries, which are affected by the Arab Spring, the opinion of the society was not sought; instead the decisions were made by the ruling class.

With the effect of the Spring, the Arabians, very interestingly, hit the streets with the request of food, peace and freedom; which is nothing else but exercising the fundamental rights recognized by the international agreements and protocols.

However the fact that is most peculiar is that these rights were never vested to them.

Whereas, Arab intellectual richness and fund of knowledge with regards to “human rights activism” at an international level is very high.

Most of the participants, maybe not most of them, were aware of their activities and they were also declining to participate to the protest, which are not considered to be peaceful, as recognized in the international agreements.

When the Arab spring is evaluated within the framework of international human rights agreements and protocols, the following assessments can be made: 1- To use freedom via free press 2- Civil disobedience 3- The right to non-violent resistance 4- The right to determining their own future 5- The right to peaceful demonstrations and The right to demand the change of government in a democratic and peaceful mannerConsequently, it can be stated that, contrary to what is believed, the Arab Spring is not a street movement, emerged spontaneously.

On the contrary, this movement, with its intellectual richness and peaceful demonstrations, has become a course, which has initiated a liberal and democratic period by putting an end to tyranny.
