Economically: sharp decline of trade with Syria and trade suspension with many countries as well as the inflation resulting from the large numbers of Syrian refugees in comparison with the local population.

Socially: sectarian and ethnic polarization in neighboring countries and the integration of immigrant groups within the host communities resulting in social changes in demographics which instigates sectarian demographic instability in the small sectarian vulnerable countries like Lebanon.

According to United Nations statistics dated 24.04.2015 there were 1.196 million Syrian refugees has been registered in Lebanon during the period extending from 2011 to 2014.

Their number currently is about 250000 refugees.
