We will read in Dr.

Hasan Hanafi’s article a cognitive origination for the concept of “Occidentalism”.

This science has emerged in opposition to occidentalization which has extended not only to the cultural life and our conceptualization of the world but it also reached out to the daily styles of living and the purity of language, architecture, and the common aspects of life.

The choice of this article has been meant to deepen the vision with “Occidentalism” dissertation and to become acquainted with its complications from more than one aspect or view.

It is known that Dr.

Hanafi has been working over the past two decades on what he calls “the science of occidentalism” in the context of his intellectual project for the revival of the Arabic Islamic heritage.
