The Jordanian Legislature imposes Death Penalty for certain major crimes such as rapes and deliberate manslaughter.

certain issues face, however, the execution of Death Penalty.

Among these issues is the long period that the King’s ratification on the Execution of the Death Penalty takes place from the time of the issuance of the Death Judgment and its execution, a matter which have negative impact on the legality doctrine.

Other issues relate to the Penalty Judgments that may be rendered against pregnant or new given birth women, where the Criminal Law of Jordan stipulates the substitution of the Death Penalty by permanent presentment in case of pregnancy and the delay for another three months of the Execution of Death Penalty in case of newly given birth women.

This Study investigates these issues and reached certain conclusions and recommendations.
