The research looks to explore one of the most important aspects of the relationship between the short story and the novel, through the phenomenon of the growing narrative, in which the novelist writes his work based on the short story he wrote before.

He does so with full consciousness and intention.

I traced several author's quotes asserting that, and found clear evidences in the novel confirming the relationship between it and earlier short stories.

There are different motives like semantic, artistic, or personal ones.

After I investigated five novels connected with short story through growing narrative, I discovered five relationships: f raming, parallelism, repetition, accumulation, and modulation.

If the strongest relationship has emerged in parallel relationship, the weakest one is the modulation, as confirmed by the graphic associated with each relationship.
