Premarital examination is a contemporary juristic issue that significantly influences man`s life.

It is also essential for generations because Islam has taken the safety of the family health into consideration such as the necessity of the preservation of one`s offspring from congenital malformations as well as physical and mental handicaps.

Having this examination become a necessity, it is advisable to make this examination for countless purposes since the number of population and genetic diseases significantly increases.

As a result, clarifying the ruling of Islamic Sharia as well as the medical and legal opinions in this regard has become an obligation since genetic diseases may have a negative impact on the future of the family and the society.

Therefore, true awareness of this matter has become one of the essentials and the requirements of the marriage contract in the civilized Islamic community.

The researcher has adopted the inductive method in collecting evidences from their original sources (The Quran and the Sunnah) , then he analyzed them to underline the significance of this issue.

This paper consists of an introduction and three chapters: ♦♦ Chapter one: The concept of the premarital examination, its goals, its characteristics, its positive aspects, its negative aspects, the most important diseases that must be tested in the Arab Islamic region, and the ethical code of those administering this examination.

♦♦ Chapter two: The Sharia ruling on this examination according to the provisions of the Noble Quran and the Prophetic Tradition, and the rulings arrived at through the induction of those provisions.

♦♦ Chapter three: The legal provisions concerning the premarital examination before marriage.
