الملخص الإنجليزي

This study aimed at investigating the challenges facing EFL teachers in developing student's grammatical competence in Theban Directorate of Education as perceived by English language teachers, and whether there are statistically significant differences (α ≤ 0.05) in their perceptions toward these difficulties due to their experience.

The sample of this study was chosen purposively; it consisted of (94) teachers in Theban Directorate of Education.

The researcher developed a questionnaire to conduct this study, and this questionnaire consisted of two domains (difficulties related to teachers, and difficulties related to students).

Validity of the questionnaire was assured by following the comments of a jury of experts who refereed its items.

Reliability was also assured by using Cronbach’s Alpha equation where its value for teachers’ domain was (0.83), for students’ domain was (0.83) and for the whole instrument was (0.90).

The findings of the study showed that there are many challenges encounter EFL teachers in developing their students’ grammatical competence.

Also, these findings showed that there are not any statistically significant differences (P > 0.05) in the perceptions ofEFL teachers toward the challenges that face them in developing their students’ grammatical competence due to theirexperience
