This research aims to tackle a language phenomenon that has not been tackled before by grammarians: the grammatical conformity .

Early grammarians used this term but not in a separate chapter, the same thing they did with the other sentence problems.

They instead handled it in the subject they were investigating.

Conformity is one of the effective elements in the Arabic sentence structure, and it contributes largely in classifying it anew.

Accordingly, the Arabic sentence no longer takes a nominal and verbal shape only.

It will assume more different types: adverbial, adjectival, and conditional.

The importance of this study stems from its nature as an applied study on a genuine text from Arabic poetry, the poetry of Al-Imam Al-Shafi'.

Al-Shafi' poetry is an authority, though it does not belong to the age of “Authority
