The Iraqi Turkish relations faced a lot of crisis including those with the historical origins and others are related to contemporary problems , the problems with historic origins stayed for long time like Mosul , water , Turkmen and the others came out after the ninety's when turkey started to support the international alliance armylogistically and these files were used by the successive Turkish governments whenever Iraq faces inner crisis or crisis with other countries , turkey used the Iraqi weakness points in 1991 when the Turkish government announce its right to get Mosul back and threaten to reduce the water flow to Iraq.

After the U.S invasion to Iraq in 2003 the relations between Iraq and turkey tensioned due to the Turkish regional role in the region despite the attempt of the justice and development party in using the diplomacy by pushing the Turkish companies in the reconstruction of Iraq but the weakness of these companies and financial and administrative corruption as well as the tension in the relations between the former Iraqi prime minister Nuri Al Maliki and the Turkish prim minister Recep Tayeb Erdogan and the war of speeches resulted to lower the level of the relations between the countries.

The crisis aggravation between the countries without having solutions for them will draw a black future for these relations with the associated need for the cooperation due to the war against the terrorism who threaten the national security in the both of them.
