The study aimed to reveal the reality of mental health among the Palestinian elderly, and identify the effect of some variables on mental health (sex, age, place of residence, educational qualifications, and marital status).

The study sample consisted of (105) Palestinian elderly (males and females).

The study utilized the new Cornell Scale (1986) which has verified the psychometric efficiency of the scale.

The study concluded that the symptoms of psychosomatics disorder affecting the mental health of the elderly were intermediate, and the most important symptoms were related mostly to sensitivity, then anger, tension, insufficiency, and finally depression.

Regarding the sex variable, the study showed differences in the clinical sensitivity dimension in favor of the elderly, however, it did not show differences in the other dimensions of the study.

As for the place of residence, it did not show differences at all dimensions, except for the anger dimension, in favor of those who live in their homes.

The same applies to age variable with no differences of all dimensions, except for anxiety dimension in favor of those below 65 years, however, differences did not exist at all dimensions, the total degree of the marital status variable, and scientific qualifications.

In the variable place of residence, there were no differences at all dimensions, except the anger dimension in favor of those who live in villages.
