Discourse is considered an important concept in the modern age, especially with regard to urging for linguistic and visual concentration transmitted by art – and literature – and to what it expresses as a circulatory action having its dominance as an effective structure and central pillar in producing the most powerful and dominant discourse on the ground of methods that necessitate the presence of discourse and impose it as a power over mind and image structures.

Like other arts of the worlds, whether old or modern, the Sumerian art had its own structure and style that introduced intellectual discourse as a result of a similarity in patterns and unconscious thinking modes and in the way of circulating those patterns and modes.

Therefore, its structure and common context of its patterns should be known as the most present and practiced patterns should have gotten constant support of the predominant powers that have turned them into a circulatory structure in their presentations as discourse and visual concentration not necessarily a product of a free mind or a free hand, but of dominant and pushing pressures.

The intellectual discourse which was dominant over the Sumerian man and represented in the figurative and formal structures of his artistic works, could not be revealed but when studying the intellectual discourses of the most dominance and presence.

How have this discourse in the structure of the Sumerian art been clearly manifested to have this effective presence of the patterns? The importance of the current research entitled "The Power of Discourse in the Structure of the Sumerian art" is revealed through: 1- Highlighting the state of the power of discourse in the structure of the Sumerian art, the context of this structure and its pattern transformations if there is any.

2- Considering the pressing structure in the discourse mode.

The aim of the research is outlined by knowing the most powerful and dominant discourse in the structure of the Sumerian art while its limits are restricted to the Sumerian art represented by the Sumerian artistic works and time limits from the semi-historical age 355 B.C.

to the third dynasty of Ur which followed the rule of the Acadian State named as the Modern Sumerian State.
