The Aim of the current research is identify the effectiveness of a suggested professional development program based on self-learning to improve the teaching skills of chemistry teachers in the secondary schools in Gaza.

To achieve this, the researcher identifies the training needs and prepare a list of the professional development of chemistry teachers in Gaza secondary stage and prepare the suggested program requirements which is based on self-learning in the form of bags educational requirements.

The researcher also prepared the research tool: the card note to measure the skill aspect of the research group (experimental group and control group) to applied test card observation to the research group tribal, , and then underwent teachers experimental group for the proposed program, while teachers in the control group were not subjected to the proposed program in professional development, but they are subjected to programs provided by the Ministry of Education.

After the completion of the implementation of the proposed program, The researcher applied the research tool Uday on the same research group (experimental and control) of chemistry teachers in the secondary schools in Gaza, and then analyze the results statistically.

The research revealed the effectiveness of the proposed program in the aspects of cognitive skills of chemistry teachers at the results.

Owing to the results of the research, The researcher introduced a set of recommendations and proposals.
