الملخص الإنجليزي

This study aims at comparing International Law and Human Rights with the Islamic Sharia Laws in terms of protecting prisoners, the injured, civilians, and others who should be protected during armed conflicts.

The research defines International Law and Human Rights as a set of rules to ease the agonies of war and to limit its impact to those involved as much as possible.

However, Islamic Sharia Law is a set of rules that aim at protecting human beings and their rights during armed conflicts.

The research shows that both International Law and Human Rights and Islamic Sharia Law agree on the way prisoners, the injured, the missing, the dead, and civilians should be treated.

That further demonstrates the genuine humane aspect of the Islamic Sharia and the strict rules of engagement Islam has imposed.

Muslims approve of International Law and Human Rights since its laws are at the core of the Islamic Sharia.

Wars and fighting in Islam have their moral rules a Muslim fighter must abide by.

In theory and practice, Islamic Sharia devised these rules more than 1400 years before the International Law and Human Rights.

Still, rules of engagement in Islamic Sharia have their religious depth that touches issues of divine reward and punishment.
