The southern prayer mosque in A1 Aqsa mosque in the Ayyobids and Mamlouks period.

In this research paper I studied an important place in al Aqsa mosque which is located in the southern part of al Aqsa ( the southern prayer mosque).

I choose the period of Ayyoubies and Mamlouks due to that critical time that follow the conquest of crusades in the medieval era.

First of all historical background must be mentioned before dealing with the monument in architectural way.

Especially the conservations, restorations and modifications that took place in the mosque during its history from the start of Islam until the crusades time.

Secondly, this research paper deals with the attitude of Ayyoubies and Mamlouks toward the mosque and mentioned the most important modifications and restorations took place by them in the period of there authority.

We find that the southern monument of Al Aqsa mosque refers to the time of Ayyoubies and Mamlouks in its final shape, and there are just few additions that took place by the ancestor of them.

Finally, Came to the conclusions, in which I hope that I succeed to get the honor of participation to serve and protect our holiest Islamic place in Palestine.
