الملخص الإنجليزي

The study aimed at identifying the extent of using the communicative approach in teaching the English language in the training schools in Gaza among the student teachers, and finding out the differences in student teachers’ responses in using the communicative approach in teaching English according to the variables of : The academic level (second-third- fourth), the stage (low- basic- secondary), accumulative average ( 70-79, 80-89, 90 and more),school of training (UNRWA-governmental).

The study also aimed at identifying some recommendations to increase the use of the communicative approach by the student teachers.

The two researchers used the descriptive analytical method.

The tool of the study was a questionnaire and the sample of study consisted of (75) student teachers of English language at Al-aqsa university.

The total score of the whole questionnaire was a percentage weight ( 72.71 %) which indicated that the student teachers use the communicative approach in a good way.

The study also revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in the student teachers’ responses according to the variables of : academic level, stage, accumulative average and school of training.

At the end of the research the two researchers introduced some recommendations to increase the use of the communicative approach by the student teachers.
