Swimming sport , like digital games, requires preparing the body in terms of physical, functional and psychological aspects, thus a part of a second-tenths determine the winner of the competition.

Furthermore, performance of a good swimmer is also affected by other variables such as genetic and ones and special trainings, which the process of warm-up forms one of the important aspect in training unit , which many researchers regard as a conclusive factor for performance in training and competition .

Warm-up in swimming , like other physical sports, can be defined as an initial preparation for the internal body systems to achieve the physical vigor before the main event in the competition , or before conducting the daily training unit so as to improve the physical status and finally achieve the objective .

Generally ,Warm –up aims to raise the body temperature and increasing blood stream, breath rate, heart rate, muscles elasticity and taking part in work , with regard to reaching the exhaustion stage as well as it makes the swimmer adopt to water and be familiar with jumping platforms, pool walls and media.

It is believed that all phases of warm-up prepare the swimmer to present the best performance during competitions .

The research objective is to present the effect of two methods of warm-up on some functional capabilities and achievement in 100m free swimming event.

The research sample consisted of (10 swimmers) divided into two groups , each group used different methods of warm-up before performing 100m free swimming .The first group used ( control method) the ordinary method ( according to what the swimmer get used in daily ordinary trainings) , whereas, the second group used ( the experimental method ) used the syllabus which the researcher prepared during warm-up ,including some syllabus in varying percentages of maximum effort.

The Pre-test has been conducted for all swimmers and all research variables have been recorded .

A week later of pre-test , the swimmers went on their daily trainings according to their prepared approach by their coach with the exception of the experimental group which was performing the warm-up in accordance with the syllabus prepared by the researcher .

After the two groups have conducted the warm- up accordingly , the swimmers were given a break for five minutes , then, post-test has been conducted in 100m free swimming .

The heart rate has been measured after warm-up and after the test completion .

The researcher has concluded , through data, that there is A statistically significant between the used warm –up methods., thus , warm-up of great varying for 100m free swimming was better than the ordinary warm-up.

As for the heart rate , the group of warm-up of great varying was better than the one of the ordinary warm-up.
