This study aims to determine the types of loans and credit facilities, which have led to the emergence of non-performing loans in Jumhouria Bank, and the reasons behind it.

Moreover, this study is trying to suggest ways to treat those causes in order to resolve non-performing loans in Jumhouria Bank.

The questionnaire style has been utilized in order to collect data, and the program of statistical package for Social Sciences (SPSS) has used to analyze the questionnaires.

The results of the study shows that all kinds of loans granted by Al-Jumhouria Bank have implications for the emergence of the non-performing loans.

Moreover, all factors (related to the lender, related to the borrower, related to the collaterals, related to the external conditions) have an impact on the emergence of non-performing loans emerged in Jumhouria Bank.

In terms of the ways to treat non-performing loans, the study showed that all methods can be used except the method of write-off debt.

Also, the study included some recommendations.
