This research highlights a kind of glossary, which received the attention of researchers in recent years, namely the Arab codicological Glossary.

This target its main attention on the terminology of the material realities of manuscripts, hence the definition of codicology.

The Arab heritage manuscript and printed is the most important source that can enrich this glossary.

The book in Arabic of Ahmed Chouqui Binebine and Mustapha Taoubi, "codicological Vocabulary Book Arabic manuscript" is the first Arab attempt in this area, four consecutive editions printed with review and increase, the fifth edition is in preparation.

The Arabic Glossary codicological also received an online electronic publication, inspired by the "codicological Vocabulary: methodical repertoire of French terms related to manuscripts" of Denis Muzerelle.
