There is a growing concern in many countries with regard to public health and the negative environmental effects of the use of chemical such as fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides and others.

It is important therefore, to produce agricultural products under certain environmental conditions.

In Fayoum governorate, ecological agriculture, clean agriculture, has been successful in terms of economical production of some medicinal and aromatic plants; like Worm Wood, Klandiola, Intajet and Bardacoch in the new land.

The objective of the present research is to investigate economic and environmental aspects of the production of some medicinal and aromatic plants in new land at Fayoum governorate.

The study used primary data of a sample of about 60 farms the results showed that labor, phosphate, nitrate fertilizer manure and number of nurseries were the most important factors affecting production of medicinal and aromatic crops.

The economical evaluation of the study indicated that the yields per feddan of ecological agriculture system of these plants are about 1.4 and 1.8 tons for Worm and Klandiola respectively, 15 and 25 liters of oil for Intajet and Bardacoch, respectively.

The results indicated that the estimated production and cost functions are in the stage of decreasing returns to scale that a sum of production elesticities for inputs are less than the value of one.

The study determined the optimum sizes to be about 1.17 and 8.93 tons per feddan for Worm and Klandiola, respectively, but the maximizing profit sizes are about 3.04 and 15.3 tons per feddan, respectively.

Similarly Intajet and Bardacoch were estimated to be about 27.3 and 30.2 liters of oil per feddan, while the optimum sizes for them were about 15.1 and 24.6 liters of oil, respectively.
