Researcher Kristina Stoeckl entitled “Defining the Post-Secular” proposes a definition of the term “post-secular”.
It dis- cards two possible modes of understanding the “post-secular”: That the post-secular means de-secularization and that it means post-secularity, a regime-change that brings society back to religion.
Instead it suggests that the post-secular is a condition of contemporariness/co-existence of the secular and religion, which can be conceptualized in three dimensions: normative, sociological-political-historical, and phenomenological.
Each of these three dimensions is characterized by a tension: Kantian vs.
Hege- lian tradition; model vs.
practice in the sociological-political-historical post-secular; and individual vs.
collective in the phenomenological post- secular.
الملخص FRE
Le deuxieme article redige par Kristina Stoeckl est intitule: «essai de definir le postseculier» (Defining the postsecular).
Cet article propose une definition du concept «postseculier».
11 pose deux comprehensions possibles: la premiere est que «postseculier» veut dire de-secularisation, et veut dire ce qui suit la secularisation, c>est-a-dire un changement du systeme conduisant a reintroduire la religion dans la societe.
La deuxieme consiste a considerer le postseculier comme une condition de la modernisation et de la coexistence entre le seculier et la religion, cela peut etre compris selon trois dimensions: normative, socio-politico-historique, et phenomenologique.
Chacune de ces dimensions a sa propre tension: Pheritage kantien contre l’heritage hegelien et le modele contre la pratique dans le «postseculier» socio-politico-historique; et le prive contre le publique dans le «postseculier» phenomenologique.
