The study aimed at determining the degree of delegation authority and its relationship with innovative behavior among the heads of departments from the faculty member’s point of view at AL- albyat University during the second semester of the academic year 2012-2013.

The study sample consisted of (187) faculty members who were selected randomly from different human and scientific faculties at AL- albyat University, the researchers used the descriptive analytical method to achieve the purpose of the objectives of the study.

Two questionnaires were designed to collect data, the first one for measuring degree of delegation authority, while the second for measuring the degree of innovative behavior.

Statistical program (SPSS), means, standard deviations, analysis of variance triangular comparisons dimensional manner Scheffe, and the coefficient of Pearson correlation of the relationship between degree of delegation and innovative behavior were used.

The study found the following result: the degree of delegation authority was intermediate, while the degree of innovative behavior came high.

The results also indicated that there were not statistical significant differences according to the impact of gender in all domains except the domain of status and the tool as a whole and the differences were in favor of male, while the variable of the faculty, the result also indicated that there weren’t any statistical significant differences in favor of the impact of the faculty in two domains: professional growth, and the impact except the domains: decision making and the status, the differences were in favor of scientific faculties, while in rank variable, the results showed that there weren’t statistical significant differences in all domains except the professional growth domain, the differences between the rank of professor and Lectuerer , the differences were in favor of the Lectuerer.

The results also showed that there weren’t any statistical significant differences according to the gender in all domains of innovative behavior, while in the rank variable, the results indicated that there weren’t any statistical significant differences in favor of the impact of the rank in all domains except the domain of innovation, the differences came in favor of the Lectuerer, while in the faculty variable, the results indicated that there weren’t any statistical significant differences in favor of a faculty in the domains: simulation, teamwork, and imitation, while the results showed that there weren’t any statistical significant differences in favor of a faculty in the domains: mental characteristic, innovation, innovative behavior in favor of the scientific colleges.

The results also indicated that there was a positive correlation relationship statistically significant between the degree of delegation authority and the innovative behavior among the heads of academic departments at AL- albyat University from the faculty members point of view.
