The present study aims at find out the effect of a group counseling program based on Gestalt Play in improving the level of perceived self Efficiency among a sample of abused children.

The sample consisted of (20) male and female abused children who received counseling services at Madeed Center for Counseling and Mental Health in Nablus city.

Then they where randomly distributed to two groups; Experimental group whose members received a group counseling program based on Gestalt play, and control group whose members did not receive the counseling program.

The performance of the two groups on perceived self Efficiency scale were measured immediately before and after intervention, whereas the level of perceived self Efficiency was measured too, for the experimental group only after three weeks of finishing the counseling program (follow up test).

Results showed a significant difference in perceived self Efficiency between experimental and control groups, in favor of experimental group; on the other hand, there were no significant differences in perceived self Efficiency due to gender.

Based on the results of the study, the researcher recommends, using gestalt play with other counseling populations who may suffer from low perceived self Efficiency such as: Traumatized children, juvenile delinquents and battered children; also study other problems that abused children may suffer from such as: Social isolation , lack assertive behavior skills, and depression.
