This paper tackles studying and evaluating views of the Qur’anic exegetes in the exegesis of double corruptions incurred by the Children of Israel, which had been mentioned in the opening of the Qur’anic Chapter of Al-Israa’ (The Night Journey), in order to grasp the most accurate view, which is aided by pieces of evidence and solid arguments, and supplemented with discussion of other various views through just and fair analyses.

The research carried out and presented an inductive study on the past and contemporary exegetic views on the subject matter.

Then it studied the evidences of each view meticulously and deliberately.

Subsequently, it pinpointed the best chosen opinion together with its hard evidence and clearer proofs.

Also it defended any potential objection against this best chosen view.

Finally, the research concluded several results, including that the most appropriate opinion regarding the double corruptions by the Children of Israel is that both occurred during Islamic era, and related to the community of Islam (Islamic Ummah): the first one took place during the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him), while the second time is their current corruption towards our present life nowadays.

In addition, it showed that each of the exegetic views on the meaning of the opening of the Surah al-Israa’ depended on what seemed to support it from the context of the verses and its wordings.

However, the best chosen view is more compatible – according to our discretion – with the principles of Qur’anic exegesis; more congruent with the Qur’anic language and more harmonious with the context of the Qur’anic verses.

Moreover, the differences among the exegetes in the interpretation of these verses do not defy the inevitable demise of Israel, and the end of the Jews’ injustice and corruption as well as their occupation to Palestine; which can be attested by the closing wordings of the verse (17:08): {but if you return (to corruption), We shall return (to Our Punishment).}; and as equally supported by many other pieces of evidence taken both from the Qur’an and the Prophetic Tradition
