In April 26th, 1901 the village of Regha in Miliana witness events of an uprising of the Algerian inhabitants facing the colonists injustice.

Two hundred Algerian young people participated in this uprising.

Preparations were organized in April 22nd and the day of events was secretly chosen so that the colonial administration doubts nothing about it.

The outbreak of offensives who took weapons to defend their lands confused the colonists who panicked and could not resist to the attack.

Given that opportunity and availability of weapons, Algerians were able to defend their territory violated by the force of the colonial administration and leadership servants who sold their conscience to the colonial enemy.

Those events were bloody, as a large number of Algerians were victims (injury after inhuman deeds, in prison after being sentenced to forced labour and or to life imprisonment).

Despite the speed of the suppression of that revolution by the colonialism, it was driven for jihad religious objectors.

Besides, it also drove the national feeling and the unity of the people either in solidarity with the resistance of Sheikh Bouamama, or attempts to distribute the resistance across the country starting with the villages and countryside as it was the case with the revolution of “Ain Eturki” in Righa Municipality.
