This study is trying to focus on examining and evaluating the most important components of Algeria government spending programs, as well as exploring the impact of these programs on the national economy through a number of qualitative and quantitative indicators, which help to compare between the actual and planned achievements.

The study problem can be summed up in the following questions: What are the results of the extended government spending national programs during the period 2001 to 2014 at the economic and social levels? can these results be compared against the level of financial resources directed to achieve them? in order to answer these questions, the following hypothesis was put forward: Public expenditure programs can improve the situation of the Algerian economy through putting more emphasis on the productive sectors especially the agricultural and industrial sectors, rather than focusing on rent seeking sector, since these sectors can play an important role in providing employment opportunities, and thus improving citizens welfare.

The study adopted the analytical descriptive and statistical methods.

The study main findings indicated that Algeria's public expenditure policy during the period 2001-2014 is a purely expansionary fiscal policy, in which billions of dollars have been spent without developing the national economy and moving the productive machinery.
