The failure of the first year of university is often an important concern because of its extent.

The transition from high school to university is usually marked by a slight emotional shock, which is explained by the radical change that requires time for adaptation: it is a question of not only revising its method of work but also rethinking objectives in order to optimize efforts and success.

The present article deals with the issue of both guidance and educational support for students under the LMD system.

In order to strengthen our study, we also question the factors of success in the first academic year relying on the case of University of Jijel.
