This study has dealt with Social media, a global phenomenon formed as a result of the communications revolution and information technology, which enabled the peoples of the world to communicate, and also provided a virtual environment for youth to express themselves The aim of the study has been to show the impact of using social media on the value system of female university students, and to identify the role of the social worker in reducing the negative effects of social media, by using the cognitive model, aiming to determine a proposed role for the General Practitioner in dealing with the effects of the use of social media by female university students using cognitive model data The study is a descriptive one that used the Comprehensive Social SurveyApproach.

The researcher used the questionnaire as the principal data collection tool and formed the sample from faculty members of social work in state universities in the city of Riyadh.

They were 150 members The study found that there are negative effects on the value system of the female university student, including: the emergence of words and expressions alien to local culture and morally unacceptable, being influenced by others in appearance and attire, and the adoption of customs which are contrary to local religious and social values, and readiness to post private photos.

Also, the results showed the suitability of the cognitive model to reduce the negative effects of social media on the value system The survey provided some recommendations, including creating plans at university level to confront the change in the value system among female students.
