the right of alimony for the child is among the rights stipulated by the legislator in articles 74-75-76-77-78 of the Algerian Family Code, in order to protect him and maintain his rights civically and criminally.

These articles specify the content of child support and the people concerned by it.

He also established the child support fund which pays for child support in case the responsible person refuses to do so, and then he criminalized the act of not paying for child support by imposing penalties on people who commit this crime.

This criminalization was addressed in articles 331 and 332 of the penal code and it came as a comprehensive protection of the child’s right to receive support.
