Although marriage seems like a personal issue, it is a major social issue, and the space of which is the world that a person lives in.

The family or group that the couple form are the cornerstone for building the society or the basis upon which the righteousness of the society is built.

Thus, the responsibility of married couples is connected to the full realization of rights; to have a successful and sustainable marriage.

From this point, we find many instances for Umm Salama (RA) highlighting her directed attention and interest towards marital rights and their fulfillment in her life to ensure stability of her family.

At this point, the importance of this subject appears and its relation with the social system of Islam regarding an important issue which affects the righteousness of the society, which is the responsibility of the Muslim wife in her home, in which she was ordered to stay.

This home is the comfort and the dwelling of her husband, and it’s the place where the family of the couple and the children meet.

Each individual fulfills his duties and the rights of his family.

From a different point of view, the house is considered the first school for upbringing and raising the children, so there was an urgent need for the Islam to highlight the duty of the wife and her responsibility in the family, which is to care for the household and maintain it.

The historic approach has been used because it is concerned with description of events qualitatively and their applications in contemporary reality.

Deductive method is an evidentiary process which moves from the general to the specific.

In this study some educational instances from the married life of Umm Salama (RA) were discussed, mentioning her husband obedience and acknowledgment of his efforts for the family after his death, also having patience when dealing with him.

Moreover, the study shows how Umm Salama (RA) served and raised her children, and had wisdom when she dealt with her husband the Prophet (SAS), in addition to demonstrating her special position among the other husband’s wives, who consulted her in different affairs.

We can say that Umm Salama (RA) was a practical applicable example, which Muslim women must follow.
