The right of a States to regulate the provisions of nationality in conformity with its supreme interests and to decide who its nationals are is not absolute and that States, in particular, must comply with their human rights obligations with respect to the granting and dispossession of nationality.

The right of everyone to the nationality of a State, as provided for in the preamble to the Geneva Convention of 1930 , on the Conflicts of Nationality and enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, and ratified by Algeria under Article 11 of the 1963 Constitution.

This right was considered one of the basic human rights, as affirmed in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, article 24 of which stipulates that every child has the right to acquire a nationality.

the article 07?of the Convention on the Rights of the Child of 20 November1989 affirmed this right; the Algerian nationality law, and the child protection law, is one of the most respected legislation for the terms of the international conventions mentioned above.
