The present study tries to show the nightmare feature contained in some of the Algerian narrative texts.

It raises the heavy humanitarian issue of bitterness and despair.

Where is the poor relationship between the ego and the other and the weak link between the ego and its self to discover that This feature becomes apparent whenever the narrator grows with his ability, dialogue and personalities that do not improve but move in the direction of terrifying tension and tide within an area of fantasy filled with ambiguity and contradiction.

The study focused on 4 stories of "The Search for the Other Face" by Ar'ar Muhammad Al Aali and "Al Nakhr" by Ibrahim Saadi, as well as "Tomorrow is a New Day" by Abdel Hamid Ben Hedouga and "Tafoonest" by Abd Allah Hammadi, texts formed by the 1980’s ,passing by 1990’s and reaching the third millennia.

The first text shows a sense of fear of everything and nothing dominates a personality whose absent name remains hostage to the nightmare of nightmares a to sink into the depth of the inability to surrender.

The nightmare in the second novel is derived from the pain of loneliness and the deferred hopes and even the proverb that transforms life into a non-life that does not deserve to live.

The nightmare in "Tomorrow is a new day," a collaborator who reduces his life task in the abuse of the skin and fatigue horror.

The fourth line is directed towards the vulnerable childhood, which cannot respond to itself the pain of fear and oppression of injustice
