The commerce in the Abbasid era (123-656) AH has a special place, according to the luxury and opulence that spreaded in the mansions of the Abbasid Caliphs.

Baghdad was the center of this commerce and trading all over the world.

Baghdad was the station and the center of the commercial convoys to start their trip to both East and West.

That’s why the Caliphs took care of this trade and they built the wells in the way of the commercial convoys that passes in Baghdad also they built up the lighthouses in the gaps and they built the fleets to protect coasts from the thieves and the bandits, they built the hotels for the traders and their goods to rest.

All these changes helps in increasing the commerce and the money for the benefit of the traders, owners of the capital and the business employers also the means of communication of both the sea and the land became popular between the interior state and the outside.

As well as the prosperity of the banking system and the means of the trading after it was simple and small.

The bills, letters of Guarantee and the remittances were accepted.

The commercial convoys was useful by making the process of trading more easy inside and outside the country.

Also the seasonal and the permanent markets helps the trade by increasing its dealers, goods, and the requests of more kinds of goods.

We should mention that according to all of what happened, the golden age of Baghdad was in the age of the Abbasid era especially the age of Al-Mansour and Al-Rasheed
