This article aims to highlight one of the most important functions in a banking institution.
This function is the Asset-Liability Management (ALM) of which the main role is the optimization of the Profitability/Financial Risks couple.
This topic will be covered first by a general presentation of the ALM concept by defining it and outlining its main missions, after that its process will be described and explained through a simplified flow-sheet, finally we will mention some technical aspects of financial risks management.

Cet article a pour objectif de mettre en évidence l’une des fonctions les plus importantes au sein d’une institution bancaire.
Cette fonction est la Gestion Actifs-Passifs (ALM) dont le rôle principal est l’optimisation du couple Rentabilité/Risques financiers.
Le sujet sera abordé en premier lieu par la présentation générale du concept ALM en le définissant et en précisant ses principales missions, en suite sa démarche sera décrite est expliquée via un schéma simplifié, enfin nous évoquerons certains aspects techniques de la gestion des risques financiers.
