The study aimed to identify the predominant mathematical productive thinking skills for the intermediate stage and their acquisition level of die seventh graders.

For realizing that the descriptive method (analysis-survey) used, a test of mathematical productive thinking skills was prepared, and distributed purposively to a sample of (786) seventh graders enrolled in the first grade of public intermediate schools belonging to the two educational administrations of Abha and Jazan cities during the end of the second term 1938AH/2016.

Results revealed predominant mathematical productive thinking skills for the intermediate stage, and level of acquiring them for the sample was (40.71%), below the educationally acceptable level.

There were significant mean score differences (ct<0.05) between male and female students in the level of acquiring these skills in favor of male students, and between the two educational administrations of Abha and Jazan in the level of acquiring these skills (except the creative thinking type) in favor of Abha’s educational administration.

Also, there was a positive correlative relationship (0.37) between the two levels of acquiring the sample of mathematical productive thinking skills (critical and creative).

A number of recommendations were presented.
