This study aimed to reveal the recent research trends in the major of educational administration, to identify trends of theses of postgraduate students in educational administration programs and to suggest a research map for postgraduate theses in the same field.

The study used 3 samples: a group of 6 experts in educational administration field, 9 Professors working in Fundamentals of Education department in Islamic University and whole population of theses which consists of 342 master theses.

The researchers used the descriptive analytical methodology and the constructive methodology to achieve study goals through using a content analysis card, unstructured interviews and a focus group The study found that the recent research trends in the specialization of educational administration focused on management and leadership field and economics of education field.

Also it found that the trends in theses of postgraduate students focused on field of management and leadership also and field of educational planning with 26.3 % and 22.2 % respectively.

Finally the study suggested a research map through setting its basics, suggesting some topics in each subfield from the six main fields and the prerequisites to conduct the map.

At the end, the study recommended to endorse the research map by universities and update it each 3 to 5 years.
