The damage caused by fossil energy sources to the environment in addition to the instability witnessed in oil markets, It led to the acceleration of efforts to look for other sources of nonconventional energy.

It appeared the global trend towards renewable energy sources.

And Algeria which considers as renter economy that depend on the absolute Energetic exports, The decline in oil prices, has affected the plans and development projects.

And possessing huge potential of renewable energy particularly solar ones, became the energy transformation as one of the most important available strategic options .

And so it began the development of renewable energies in Algeria enjoys great interest by the public authorities, which seeks, through its various programs and projects to give new impetus to this sector as an alternative to fossil energies dwindling resources.

And we will try through this paper highlight the motives of the energy transformation in Algeria and the obstacles encountered and then shed light on the national program for renewable energy and its role in ensuring this transformation
