Continuous improvement is essential in the presence of an intense competition that companies are facing today.

It represents a continuous gradual change adopted by the company in order to improve its performance, and therefore, providing a competitive advantage.

In the past, company might reach high performance level by focusing on the control of products and services quality.

Actually, with the intensity of competition and the speed and complexity of the changes, company must adopt the concept of the continuous improvement of its processes, to ensure their quality and efficiency, as keys factors for generating added value, and it’s through these processes that the company satisfy the increasing and unlimited needs and desires of customers and meets their expectations.

To achieve this goal, the company has a set of continuous improvement methods.

In this research, we used some of these methods, that differ in terms of complexity and degree of development and the tools used in improvement as well, and we indicated their role in improving processes and company performance.

We concluded that the company must select the most appropriate method (s), according to its culture, the nature and the complexity of its processes to improve its performance.
