Background & Objective: Aggressive periodontitis (AgP) is considered a multi-factorial disease whose etiopathogenicity is not fully understood, thus making its treatment complicated and there is no universal treatment protocol yet.

This study aims to assess types of periodontal treatment protocols used at Periodontics Department - Faculty of Dentistry - Damascus University for management of AgP by examining treatment methods, antibiotic prescription patterns and complience with treatment.

Methods & Materials: patient records between 2010-2013 were reviewed.

98 patients (34 females, 55 males) aged 18-38 years were included in this study according to specific criteria.

Patients' data regarding age, gender, smoking and occupation were recorded.

Also, disease type,referral source and radiographes were documented.Finally, information about all treatment stages was examined.

Results: there was 73 GAgP cases compared to 25 LAgP cases with statistical significance (P <0.05).

Inner referral from undergraduate clinic in the department was the highest.

6 paients dropped out before any treatment.

Whilest, the highest compliance rate was seen in phase I therapy with 94% of patients compared to 53% in corrective therapy and 35% in maintenance phase.

86 patients had adjunctive antibiotic therapy with scaling and root planning, with Amoxicillin+Metronidazole combination being the most prescribed.

Bone grafts were mostly used in LAgP cases.

Females and collage students had the highest compliance rate.

Conclusions: this study has pointed out numerous positive aspects especially early detection and applying the latest treatment techniques.

However, it highlighted some negative aspects such as deficint paient records and patients' none compliance with treatment plans
