Since the 1980s, many developing countries have seen their individual income decline, while some others, in significant numbers, have managed to achieve modest growth.

This slow economic growth, if any, pushed these countries to engage in cooperation with international institutions (IMF, World Bank) in structural adjustment programs.

Our question is whether openness and economic growth will affect their economic and social well-being? To do this, we will attempt to examine, within the framework of a panel data model, the influence of growth via openness on economic well-being from a sample for some Arab countries (Algeria , Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia), covering the period 1980 to 2016

الملخص FRE

Depuis les années 80, nombreux pays en développement ont vu leur revenu individuel décliner, cependant que certains autres, en nombre non négligeable, ont réussi à mettre à leur actif une croissance modeste.

Cette croissance économique lente, sinon nulle, a poussé ces pays d’être engager en coopération avec les institutions internationales (FMI, Banque Mondiale) dans des programmes d’ajustement structurel.

Notre question est de savoir si l’ouverture sur l’extérieur et la croissance économique auront-ils une incidence sur leur bien-être économique et social ? Pour ce faire, nous essayerons d’examiner, dans le cadre d’un modèle de données de panel, l’influence de la croissance via l’ouverture sur le bien-être économique à partir d'un échantillon pour certains pays arabes (Algérie, Egypte, Jordanie, Maroc et Tunisie), couvrant la période 1980 à 2016.
