Walt Disney’s basic contribution was not limited to the narrow artistic area of the concept of animation which focuses on the designing and moving of characters.

It embraced the whole process of the artistic production of the animation film, parallel to the technical development of the movie business.

He was the first to add sound to Animation.

He followed this by executing the first colored animation film, and instigating his painters to pursue academic studies.

He also invented the painted framework for pencils.

Later, He produced the first feature film entitled: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

This achievement was followed by his use of live action filming which added a realistic touch to the acting of his characters.

He used the then, newly invented Xerox printing machine to make a wonderful movie entitled: 101 Dalmatians.

He also invented a multi-layers movie camera, which was considered a revolution in the animation business because it added a new perception of the third dimension to the movie camera.

Added to that was his special interest in special effects and backgrounds, and, also the introduction of classical music to the art of animation in his renowned movie: Fantasy.

He adapted stories for his films classical stories and grandmothers’ tales.
