Takaful insurance is considered as an essential component of the Islamic financial industry.

It has become more important, and it has expanded significantly in the recent times to provide more than 1.5 billion Muslims with Islamic insurance products, which are compliant with the Islamic law.

Thus, Takaful insurance companies started to appear in the early 1970s in some Arab countries.

Then, they have spread across the world.

They are based on solidarity, cooperation and avoiding legal prohibitions in their transactions, unlike the traditional commercial insurance companies.

Algeria had also a share in this industry with the establishment of Salama Insurance Company.

This industry will be promoted in the future by other companies.
